Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Happy as I am to see this rescinded, I sense that he'll need to tread carefully in the coming weeks, as the spotlight will be firmly on him. It's all rather reminiscent of the furore surrounding Nigel de Jong and his tackling style, back in 2010.

He'll be fine. This decision is a huge vindication for him imo

Great stuff well done FA and Dean.

In your face Brazil. Ragboy and Cross to name but 3. The way they were going after Vinney was disgusting.

If dean admits he made a mistake it doesn't go to the appeal panel. So that means he thought he made the correct decision sending him off.

Watch out especially for the games with Wigan, Everton & Newcastle ;)

According to the papers, the only way these decisions get over turned is if the panel find that the ref made an "obvious error".

No surprise to me. Would of been a joke if not. For all the conspiracy theorists we had a lot of people backing us on this and surely had some influence on the outcome.

Very unexpected but very, very welcome news.

I'm actually gobsmacked at the overturn but its a victory for both football and common sense, awesome stuff.........!

Have the details/findings been published yet?

I think some people need to wait and see rather than pre judging things, the amount of people saying it would not get overturned in this thread, the club would not have submitted an appeal if they thought it would not be successful

Im with you, amazing decison.. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt even a foul in my opinion, but after the Nani incident last year (Also never a foul), how could they possibly overturn this decision? Bizarre... No credibility at all...

I'd love someone from the FA come out and explain the difference between the 2 incidents...

To be fair we appealed last season and that didn't turn out well. Saying that I didn't think about the Gibson and N'Zonzi cases, so what do I know.

Staggered. 99.5% of appeals against FA sanctions are unsuccessful (see: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16430580 ) so Vinces appeal is one of the 0.5% that are successful!

Pathetic article from Keown especially right at the start when he says we have seen this "a few times" and then shows pictures of great challenges - two of which got red cards with the latest being rescinded. The FA Cup one v United should have been rescinded too.

So its basically a hollow article written by a bitter man whose team we have just beaten and they are looking a shadow of their former selves. A team that went unbeaten one year by, amongst other things, carrying out the sort of challenges that Vinny did on Sunday afternoon - perfectly legal, physical, hard tackles.

He should remember that. I note he never mentions his behaviour at Old Trafford when Van Nistlerooy missed that penalty and also at the final whistle.

Cock.

Which there was

The only slight worry is that Ladyman said the Refs were fuming over the card being rescinded as if effectively undermines them.
Lets hope they're men enough to take it on the chin and not exact any petty revenge.
