Come on now. prime Alves would make Walker look like pub player. Alves would play every single game for us in his prime. He was like full back with midfielders technical ability. Walker the worst technical player we have. The less possession you give away, the less you have to run. Its not like Alves was slow either, he was pretty fast as well.

Alves in his prime was, IMO, the best right back in football among his peers bar none.

In current football, TAA is probably the best right back - but Alves, in his prime, was better still.

I'm not sure I agree on the 'return is poor' claim by @super_city_si A player is NOT out of position if he just attacked down the flank and the opposition wins the cross and counters. There are protocols in place when a team floods one area, others are supposed to rotate in. It's assine to expect the Fullback who just ran full tilt to support the offense to get back to fullback duties pronto.

Fullbacks can however be out of position when they ball watch or are oblivious to their responsibilities in an opposition's attacking sequence. Which happens to Kyle a lot. That one is problematic.

Realised early on that running with the ball powerfully at the space between Jones and Williams was causing them all manner of problems.
