We are the minute a ref walks on the pitch, it was a farcical screwjob last season and will happen all over again this time around, we're going to have to be twice as good as Chelsea just to make it a title race
Good point.

It used to be knows as gallows humour. Only we are no longer the condemned.

I don't thing the forum is full of rags really. Over the years I've noticed that any dissenting voice is now more likely to be rounded on by the masses and boringly accused of being a rag which puts some posters off entering a debate. I'm more of a reader than a poster these days butI used to enjoy debating with the likes of yourself in the past.

Great podcast by the way. Really look forward to them particularly the ones with Sam.

I don't think it's full of rags either. I do think though that whilst our fortunes as a club have improved beyond some of our wildest dreams, the default disposition remains somehow despondent! Thanks for the compliment btw ... I got sent a link to a thread about the pods on reddit earlier which was a deeply depressing read. Deep down I'm a sensitive soul ... haha.

You can't please everyone but I think they're really interesting. You ask the questions I would ask so I'm happy.

Older City fans in particular can be miserable and look for something to complain about no doubt. However the speed at which posters turn to abuse on here is weird sometimes. I find fellow City fans in real life much more open to a good debate about the merits of a player or potential signing while in here it's soon shut down as negative these days or that you must be a rag taking the piss. Levels of paranoia are very high at the moment.

Even when I first joined, "rag" was the go-to insult for people whose opinion others disagreed with.
A lot of it is paranoia. It doesn't help with the whole media agenda thing, which harbours this type of behaviour.

Might as well give up then until they bring in video technology to stop all those bent refs stopping us winning the league.

Fernandinho is vastly over rated on this forum.

He dipped in form a bit last season, but it seemed very much due in part to filling in as a right (even left?) back, hence the need for someone like Aves and Walker.

I don't really agree with your assessment because since joining has been one of the most underrated midfielders in the PL, and it's hard to imagine where we would be without him. The notion that he has had 1 good season with us is also quite odd. The previous 2 seasons he was excellent.

Even this past season, before he picked up the back to back red cards he was playing great as our holding midfielder with the inverted wing back tactic Pep was utilising.

It was then he seemed to fall off as he was played out of position a few games. As Yaya came back into the team and did very well in his place and Pep was not going to drop Yaya nor Silva nor KDB too frequently. Pep also gave some games then to Fernando and Delph when he was fit who then played well until getting injured again.

I don't think there is much chance Pep will look to rely upon him again as anything other than an emergency fullback option which hopefully is less likely with the signings we should make.
