The derision starts any time we sign any player. I recall the media going ape when we signed Ederson for 35 Mill ish, fake outrage everywhere.

Yep it only matters if it's us or psg but the Spanish duo gets off lightly in the media.
although to be fair Madrid didn't spent much last few years and they won the CL titles 3 years in a row so the prize money must be good
