Edit: I know they have a game in hand on Atleti, but they're not points in the bag. Even 4 should be unacceptable with the squad they have.

I would not rule him out getting the sack on the next month or so, the sides chemistry does not look very healthy to me.
If Benitez was out of work and not at Chelsea, Mourinho would be gone tonight in my opinion - I don't think Madrid want to take the risk of not progressing in the Champions League when the whole side is pretty much divided, it's like manager vs the players - not healthy.
