lacking motivation to start running and get fit again

Been saying to myself since the 1st that I will go out for a run and get back into it, but I haven't started yet and have absolutely no motivation whatsoever!

any tips from you fitness fanatics that might help?
 
Enter a run/race in a few months time.

That way you have a reason to get out there. Also an excuse to raise some cash for charity at the same time, further motivation.
 
Forget it and take up swimming instead .....

a change is as good as a rest ... and swimming's probably more' beneficial' anyway!
 
I feel your pain. I spent months procrastinating and have finally taken the plunge, the first couple of days are a balls, but once you get into a routine, you'll be sorted, grin and bear the first few days, make a plan and whatever you do, don't sit on the couch when you get in from work. get in, change and go

Thanks for the suggestions. Just going to have to get out and do it! Break down the barrier lol.

I will look into swimming aswell at a local gym, sounds like a less stressful way to get fit again.
