Lampard To City On Loan

Yeah; we're short of midfielders. Seriously though; who, out of our strongest XI would you drop for him? I suppose Samir would be the prime candidate (can't see Merlin, Yaya or Fern, the brazilian one, being dropped). And, personally, I wouldn't swap Samir for Lampard now.

How does this fit with FFP? New York City pay for him and he plays for us, is this the way forward?

Testing the water?
If all goes through without Rags etc. throwing toys out can be used again for more crucial situations?

Just speculating.

He's not got a bad CV! Even at his age a bit part role to keep his fitness up I guess. Never thought I'd end up seeing Lampard in a city shirt.

Frank Lampard is set to sign for Manchester City on loan. Story to follow ...

Still good for a few goals and assists maybe in Carling Cup games etc.

so our CL home growns are Hart, Milner, Lampard, Clichy & Boyata. thats the 5 required.

This is a simple case of media arithmetic speculation . Lampard joins sister club NYCFC + he is currently available = Possibility of joining us on loan.

Personally I don't see the point of this. There is the homegrown quota issue but I don't think we are that desperate and Lampard for one will only disrupt the midfield set up internally in terms of unnecessarily competing for places against our players and externally with all the media attention and stories this deal will generate.

We have distinguished ourselves this transfer window by staying out of the media foolishness and nonsense that is going on with the other clubs. We have handled our business objectively and quietly as is the ideal way. This Lampard thing will bring unnecessary distraction and I don't see the need for it.

He is a great player but his time at the top has passed so he should just chill in New York and have a nice and befitting twilight.
