Want to get my son (12 years-old) a laptop.
I'm a bit of a technophobe, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Basic usage will be Ultimate Team and homework.
Problem is if it's slow and unresponsive, he won't use it.
Was looking at spending around £300 - £350.
Am I wasting my time at that price?

I don't really know a lot about laptops but from experience you very much get what you pay for. My last one was a Dell that cost about £350 IIRC and it was shit. Brilliant for a month or two, then the battery life went down to about 20 minutes, the speakers broke, charger broke, I'd never buy one again.

Using a Vaio now and it's brilliant, cost about £500 though. To contradict myself completely, a £350 laptop should be more than sufficient for a 12 year old.
