Laptop charger and battery

Basically can't get any power into my Toshiba laptop.

The battery has been holding no power now for a couple of months so it has more or less been permanently plugged in and now the charger won't power it up.

Is it a simple case of a new battery and charger? The little green light on the charger only comes on now and again.

Or have I fucked the whole thing up by not replacing the battery sooner?

Cheers.

Take out battery and run from power lead, it should boot up, then buy new battery...
I have tried this and there's no power out of the lead now.

So the actual laptop should be fine?

Cheers mate.

I had this and found my charger was knackered - bought a new one and the battery started charging up again.

With mine, if I knocked the charger out the laptop would shut down coz there was absolutely no charge in the battery.

Mind though, chargers are not cheap.

Could also be your dc jack on the lappie, somtimes the pin inside cracks.

costs about £25 from a shop to fix (depends usually how much you have to strip out to get at it. hopefully its just the power adapter
