Laptop DVD player problems - Please help me :)

My laptops dvd player has stopped recognising dvd's. It still plays cd's and dvd roms (copied dvds/games) but wont recognise normal dvd's, including dvd's it has played prior to this occuring. I've tried installing new dvd drivers etc but nothing happening. Help?

Try a cleaning disc, failing that probably a new drive I suspect.

Yeah tried a cleaning disc an hour or so ago, no luck. Looks like the drive is fucked! Cheers anyway mate!

Do you have a TV tuner installed ? the software associated with them can cause all sorts of problems with DVD drives

Try deleting the drive in Windows hardware manager, reboot, then try making it redect new hardware.

Mine did it shortly after I got it, ended up getting a replacement drive sent to me, that fixed the bugger! Good luck!
