Laptop Won't shut down ;0/

As it says in the title. Missus lappy hasn't been able to shut itself down without removing the battery.

Any advice much appriciated.

Hit it with a big hammer
 
A process will still be running on the machine. Hit control+alt+delete to bring up the Task Manager, On the processes tab - click on the CPU header and it'll sort the list ascending/descending. See if anythings running and if it is end the process.

Try that atleast anyway
 
Not advisable to shut down your comp by just turning the power off though mate. My laptop sometimes takes 10mins to shut down for some reason but it does shut down eventually. I only turn it off in rare events as it can fuck stuff up i've heard.
 
I turn my laptop off by holding the power button down all the time. I'm a lazy fucker. I've never once gona START and SHUT DOWN, takes far too long

haha i used to do that, that why i am probably in an internet caf now!!

Go into Power options in control panel and set your power button to Hibernate, it will power up faster and will be exactly as you powered it off.
