Gotta be Blackburn away. Offically 8,000 blues in the away end.... there were 30,000 there that day and to say one third of the rest of the ground were city fans is being kind. But assuming that's about right there were 7500 city in their ends.. plus maybe another 1000 locked out and on the hill... so 16,500 city at an estimate that day

OT 86 2-2 Arthur with a OG ,then off to Wembley the next day for the Full members cup final 2 big games in 2 days.I can only echo what others have said, OT for my first away derby in 86 was an eye opener, Notts County was anarchy in the blazing sun, the inflatables game at Stoke - walking to the game there were blues in fancy dress as far as the eye could see but the biggest one must've been Blackburn - maybe 20k there that day

I was at all those big turnouts mentioned but, I suspect for a domestic (not Wembley) game the cup match at Leeds was our biggest turnout

Hamburg away in Europa league was decent seem we had a load there before we was getting into Europe we took good away numbers for friendlys like someone mentioned Hamburg and I remember a little tour in Denmark think we played feyenoord and odense maybe

Blues everywhere that day. It was packed behind the goal and i'll always remember Whiteside giving us the wanker sign after he scored at our end and the coolcats in the paddock climbing the fences to get at the scum.
