Last Film You Saw

Just come back from watching Stan & ollie. Thought the two characters were portrayed very well and it's worth a watch but nothing more .6/10 from me

"The Favourite".

I found this quite wonderful to watch. It's absorbing rather than riveting but, still, I could not leave my seat whilst it was on.

The first 45 mins were excellent before it takes a darker turn as it then gets more sombre and more machiavellian in its pronounced outlook.

A film about power at every level to make you think about your own position.

A novel way of cinematography catches you off guard, at first, but you kind of get used to it.

Great, rather than brilliant but the humour does hit on point.

Not sure about the buzz on Olivia Coleman, but there does seem to be a shortage in the field of excellent female roles in the last year.

Like Shawshank redemption?

Sort of...
For me nothing can compare with Shawshank Redemption - I must have honestly watched at least 20 times.

The Green Book is 'inspired by true events' and such shows the terrible racial inequality in the USA in the '60s
and how people dealt with it and the Damascene conversion of two people from both sides.
What I've written sounds like horse shit I know, but you just need to watch it.
I would be very surprised if you were disappointed.

The Upside.....

Only opted for it as Vice had already started. Not had many favourable reviews so I wasn't expecting too much, but I quite like Kevin Hart, he's a fellow midget.

True story of a wealthy quadriplegic, played by Bryan Cranston who hires an ex con, Hart, to be his "life auxiliary". I'd seen an interview with Cranston last week where he'd talked about having to keep perfectly still. The sense of frustration one must feel in that situation certainly comes through, in one scene particularly. I was pleasantly surprised, I laughed a lot and there's some quite touching moments. I really liked this film.
