No. The subject matter is pretty harsh, and there's one fairly unhappy scene involving a building on fire.need a bit of help on 3 billboards - does it have any gory/umsuitable scenes in it?
It's got a slightly dark humorous edge to it that passed me by at first - I gave up after twenty minutes before giving it another shot. It's really very engrossing, witty, tense and moving. Right between an 8 or 9 out of ten for me. Maybe just a little contrived or predictable at points, but the acting and dialogue are perfect.
Mission Impossible Fallout: Uhhh. Pretty flawless. Best Hollywood action film since Casino Royale, I reckon.
The Badabook: Another one that I am glad I came back to after giving up 20 minutes in first time around. Things that bothered me started to make sense. Mother and child seemed a bit annoying, maybe a little 'off'. I put it down to bad acting and direction but.... well, yeah. They are just a bit annoying, and just a bit off, and it's intentional. Scary and creepy, great effects and art direction.
Hereditory: I'm on my third try, and I've made it just over an hour in. Damn. I'm not 'scared'... but it's grim dark. Very, very grim indeed. So dark... I am getting scared thinking about it. Really strong acting and direction - no schlock horror here, you could mistake it for a very high quality drama made for purists.
Mandy: Got tired, only an hour in. Trippy and wierd rather than scary. But yeah. Creepy, and shocking. Must finish.
Suspiria (2018). Gave up after five minutes, thought I should watch the original. Went back, for the Thom Yorke soundtrack but gave up because I need better quality audio - web rips are HORRIBLE! Supposedly the movie is very overwrought and pretentious. As a very overwrought and pretentious person, I am looking forward to it.
Leave No Trace: Was expecting a taught thriller. Nope. It's a hopelessly honest, insightful and well made drama that asks questions big and small. Who we are, who we need to be, how we are allowed to live, and why. And how we are bonded together, and what that can mean. The film itself seems fairly unassuming, and could just as easily pass you by as shake your foundations. Personally - I needed a day off afterwards.
Spider Man Homecoming: Easily one of my favourite Marvel movies - although the second half isn't as fresh as the first. Fun and relatable, without being too clumsy.
I'm pretty sure I watched Manchester By The Sea again, and I STILL couldn't tell you a damned thing that happened apart, from Casey Affleck is very sad and very unhappy and everyone else knows it.
