Last Film You Saw

Last train to Christmas on sky cinema with Michael Sheen. Suspend your disbelief for two hours (particularly the black and white scene) and its a good watch with a nice ending.
Thanks for telling us the train doesn’t derail, explode and all the passengers elves reindeer and Ickle children don’t die.

Use the bloody spoiler function:-)

The new Spiderman film was good. Full of fan service, moves at 3 billion miles an hour and the plot isn't strong but it's a fun watch. Felt very Marvelley with the number of one liners and references. Worth a watch.

The new Matrix film. Bloody hell. It isn't just bad, it stretches far enough to be offensively bad. The first act was vaguely interesting but after that ... bloody hell. Its a nightmare of a film where at every point you're both trying to work out what is going on and trying to work out what the Wachowskis think is going on because they aren't the same thing. I've never seen a film that despises itself as much as this and I'll agree with it

The Dig.

Adaptation of a novel based on the discovery of the Anglo-Saxon ship burial at Sutton Hoo. Bloody 7th century immigrants, making us English.
See all that gold they were hoarding? Whilst the rest of us scrabbled around in the dirt? Bloody global elites.

It’s great. In my opinion they’ve delivered something entirely unique and unexpected of your typical Hollywood blockbuster reboot. I loved how meta it was and how strong and diverse the casting is. It’s a bold movie, one that I think is only going to be more appreciated as time goes on.

I honestly believe critics have been going in thinking it’s going to be in a Star Wars / Ghostbusters type reboot or a John Wick / Neo hybrid and it flips the whole thing on its head. It’s very well balanced and at times quite beautiful. Seems to be a lot of ‘this isn’t my Matrix’ type comments which I’m finding amusing.

Well, what can I say besides I'm glad I watched it before reading this review.

Sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I'll keep it brief...

Lana Wachowski needs a new writer or to let someone else have a new take because her 'vision' has further tanked this film than I thought possible!

Please, no more for me...
