Last Film You Saw

The banshee of Iniserin: 6/10.

Its not bad, just very slow moving. Lots of dark Irish humour. Its simplicity means it can run parallels with more deeper meaning.
It will be a marmite with movie buffs.

Good description and I agree with that rating. I love the previous films these guys have done together. This one is darker, with less comedy. I don't mind that at all, but some parts of it are just very strange and I think detract from the overall feel of the film and some brilliant acting performances.

For those that have seen it I'm mainly talking about Gleeson's character chopping off his fingers. I can't get my head around why they went down that route and I don't think it added anything other than perhaps a 'shock' value the film didnt need. I'd have rated it higher without that.

ISPOILER] It was to show his pig headedness and totally in keeping with the character, take that out and it wouldn't have been a surprise that he didn't stay inside his burning house[/ISPOILER]

It has its fair share of haters. But for me it's a decent film.
Enjoyed for what it is, it's pretty unsurpassed in its genre.
No other film does aerial combat cinematography as good as this.
Enjoyed it .. not sure why but it made me quite emotional in places.. maybe being ex-mil or because of my home life or maybe it made me reminisce about life when the first film came out

Yeah, I understand the point. It was just a very extreme way of doing it. It's one I'm going to rewatch, will see if I view it any differently second time round.

M3GAN - cross between Chucky and A.I, doesn't take itself seriously and was an entertaining watch. Had some really good laugh out loud moments too.

The action scenes are brilliantly shot. Say what you like about Cruise (and many have), but he knows how to put together action moves. The Mission Impossible series, Collateral Damage and Top Gun; Maverick, to name but a small sample.
