Why was Bennet subbed for Martin "7 minutes of extra time" or until United score Atkinson?

Of ALL the people to replace Bennet why on earth would they choose Atkinson?

Why was no time added on for United's goal celebration when Scholes scored?
That was his excuse for the extra 2 minuted added on at the swamp.

Bennett was overseas (on a course?) and couldn't fly back due to the volcanic ash cloud. I suppose Taggart and Gill are probably not to blame for that!

because Atkinson had a good game and didn't really do anything wrong and only added 3 mins on(bet he thought he'd better make it short and sweet to not draw controversy) and we STILL let a goal in.

If there are 15 seconds left to play when a goal is scored then there are only 15 seconds left to play when the match restarts no matter how long the goal celebration takes.
