Laurence Fox launches political party

Might have something to do with it but it doesn’t exonerate him from being a ****.

Am more inclined to wonder whether he could be saying this stuff to attract attention from the US, as there might be people there prepared to bankroll him.

Robinson might be playing a similar game too. He was interviewed by Tucker Carlson recently.

Perhaps the best approach is therefore to simply ignore the two of them.
I liked this but disagree on the last point. Know your enemy etc.

**** tries to outcunt himself with hideous click bait

I found out that my Dad was a racist in 2015 and he has been very hard to deal with since then - so thats going on 8 years now - so on age calculations I have 15 years to turn into one. Massive spoiler its not genetic its about outlook, intelligence and education
My Dad, a product of his times, was quite racist in my early years but following many "conversations" with my sisters and I, has over the last 50 years become not racist. It's quite heartening really.
Edit; He doesn't recognise he ever was and as he's a few days off his 95th birthday I've given up correcting him.

An improvement is an improvement - sadly my Dad is one of those who voted Tory in Middleton to Get Brexit Done but can't accept it isn't done whilst at the same time has several mixed race grandkids and great grandkids whilst he bandies around N. P. K and C words and cannot see me issues with it

Mine was/is a classic (small c) conservative who adopted tropes and stereotypes without overtly examining them. He has mixed race grandchildren so maybe this has led to his reevaluating, whatever the cause I'm glad he's less of a twat than he was.

Surely you can at least give some credit to your uneducated and racist dad's for managing to raise such clever and enlightened children?

Around the time that Elon Musk bought Twitter I joined it.

One specific reason (though not the only one) was to attack Robinson and to see what happened when I did.

This was partly out of curiosity. Unlike many of his other online critics, and though I am an outsider to it, I know the world of Biblical studies and Theology well enough to do things like, for example, argue for abortion, euthanasia and, crucially, same-sex unions on both scriptural and theological, as well as philosophical grounds.

For example, every last one of the passages in the Bible that appear to be explicitly or indirectly condemnatory of homosexuality can and have been given interpretations demonstrating that they are not. Typically this is because of mistranslations of the relevant Hebrew and Greek terms, or simply flawed exegesis.

Plus, when it comes to Church history, as Catholic scholars like John Boswell and Alan Bray have discovered, "[f]or a very long period, formal amatory unions, conjugal, elective and indissoluble, between two members of the same sex were made in Europe, publicly recognised and consecrated in churches through Christian ritual."

I also know how to make the case, again through recourse to scripture, that being a Christian is incompatible with being Conservative. Finally, I am familiar enough with Black Theology and the likes of James Cone and Martin Luther King Jr, as well as philosophers like Cornel West and George Yancy, to challenge Robinson on that turf as well.

Although I was careful to avoid ad hominem attacks for the most part, I still ended up getting blocked. Twice.

He unblocked me after I went after some of the people he re-tweets and started having a go at them instead, whilst arguing that Robinson was a moral hypocrite for championing free speech and yet blocking his detractors on a whim. At that point he was trying to engage with me personally. But I kept my distance as I don't want to interact with the **** on that level.

Anyway, second time around he blocked me for simply recommending some Biblical scholars and theologians that would enable anyone who read their publications to see right through him. That happened a couple of days ago.

Am presently undecided whether to register under a different name and keep going. But that's the back story.

I enjoy your posts mate, but I'm not sure the 280 character limit on twitter will suit you tbh ;-)

A large proportion of the older generation in this country are inherently racist. Sad but true. Products of their time? Yes. I'm confident such tendencies will redress as our younger generation get older.

I'd encourage you to do so, I'd also like to follow the exchange, let me know your name on there.
