Lawnmower Recommendations

Just posted that out of interest to be honest.

I've got an old Mountfield with a briggs and stratton engine ...lasted 20 years so far.

Just service carb (kit) and spark plug now and then.

Equivalent of mine:

Checking out all the recommendations as they’re all valued. The Mountfield doesn’t mulch, which I’d prefer as there’d be too many clippings for the green bin. My council doesn’t do extra collections.

Get a robotic mower. I got one a few years back and the usual 1.5 to 2 hour Sunday mow with a mountain of cuttings were just a bad memory. She goes out every day in all weather's, mulches and the grass, moss and clover has never looked better.

How much did you pay? They seem either mega expensive or a gamble on quality.

I just remembered, when I was a nipper there was a house on Briscoe lane that would put a goat out on the front lawn at the beginning of each summer. My Dad always told me that they did to keep the lawn cut and I would look forward to seeing it every year. I'm now starting to think that they were fattening it up and that it was a different one each summer : (
The silence of the goats?

Reminds me of when i lived with a girl on Gloucester Road in Droylsden years back. They had a big long back garden and her mum and dad had took the mower with them, when they moved down south.
So when the grass got a bit long, she used to nip 2 doors down and borrow their shetland pony, and let it roam in the garden for a few days to keep the grass in trim.
