Anyone see that guy go off the edge of the cliff yesterday - and survive!? Today's the day, half day off work to watch the Alpe Duez stage. What a fantastic Tour it's been up to now.

Anyone watching it or is it just me and BTH?

I am but its compulsary over here. Saw the guy yesterday and that was a bit hairy but reminded me of a few years back when the guy went over the cliff edge and landed in the only tree the other side of the cliff. Must be on you tube somewhere.

I've watched it every day and have done since back in the 80's when Stephen Roche and Sean Kelly were top riders

if Evans can keep his losses in the mountains to about a minute he'll make it back in the final time trial and win the tour - unless it comes back that he's been on the juice all along?

It's just cycling though isn't?

I don't see any cameras around when i pop to the shops. And they are all drug taking crack heads.

Not for me as i can't see the attraction of watching sweaty blokes in leotards pumping their legs up and down. Some of you might, but hey, that's your choice.

Great. How do you rate this year's Tour compared to others? For me it's the best I've seen but I only got into it about 10 years or so ago.

it's been very very good as there has been no outstanding favourite with about half a dozen guys in with a real chance of winning

that plus the course being one of the better ones has made it a great tour so far

having Cavendish win 4 stages has been great too

Great race yesterday and the whole thing has been one of the best i've seen.
The camera work on eurosport is breathtaking at times.

Agreed,stonerblue.
The coverage of a race thats moving at 30 mph over distances of up to 200 miles, with a peloton that stretches back kilos is awesome.
Also this tour is probably the most competitive for years;(7 different leaders to date, and still the race is in the balance).
Yes,the drug spectre is ever-present and I wish cycling had a "cleaner" profile, but in my opinion it is still the most gruelling and physically demanding sporting event there is.
Just completing is a monumental achievement.
Not a big Cadel Evans fan personally - bit too much of a "wheelsucker" for my liking - I prefer riders who attack and try to dominate by winning stages, not time-trials,but anyone who finishes with "le maillot jaune" is a worthy winner.
Used to ride for Manchester Wheelers myself when Chris Boardman was starting out,(though never in the same ball-park as him obviously),but these tour riders are something else.

I'm loving it. Sport at its best.

Just bought Lance Armstrong book,Every second counts.Great read if your in to le tour.
