Manchester City are ready to enter the running to sign Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.

The Brazil international, who starred at London 2012 as his country earned silver medals, has been tracked by numerous Premier League clubs.

Tottenham were first to register an interest and got as far as negotiating a fee for Damiao two summers ago, before attempting to land him in the last transfer window.

And Manchester United have also made it clear to Internacional that they are keen on the striker.

City have remained quiet but reports in Brazil now claim Roberto Mancini is keen on the 23-year-old.

Mancini has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko but the Italian is said to be eager to land Damiao.

Internacional, mindful of mounting interest in the striker, could spark an auction this January as they know City can afford to pay big money to land the Brazil ace.

I'd say after only 1 transfer window. but you're right. I thought city were going to have to pay full price for Javi Garcia, but only paying 16 million was a pleasant surprise.
