Learning the Guitar

Have you got the intro to Thunderstruck nailed yet? It's a piece of piss....

Three chords and a wing and a prayer!

it was the last one I was given to learn before all hell broke loose and it’s been in storage unit for about a year :(

not given up hope yet

are you in the process of learning ?

My biggest breakthrough learning guitar was putting a drumbeat loop on and playing to that , it all sort of made more sense after that !!

I know loads of chords but I wouldn't know where to begin with the scales stuff it all seems so difficult
You can't just play anything can you ?

Just learn the blues scale and how to use it in a major and minor key and your good to go

are one to one lessons a good leg up?

i did 18 months learning maybe......7 years ago? I gave up, put it down, it just wasn't happening for me. But i'm keen to get back into it and thinking some proper tuition and the forced incentive of paid lessons might be a good way forward

I gave one on one lessons for 20 odd years, so I'd say definitely yes. It will give you discipline.

But get a tutor who is pliable, I always asked my students what they wanted to play and taught them accordingly.
