Sorry, I should have put it in the OP. It was just after we were taken over and had bought Robinho. He was sat in the studio with mark lawrenson and lawrenson said to him "City are ruining football, aren't they?" and Dixon said "Yes" or words to that effect. Talked to him on a train journey a while ago.
He supports City & Arsenal. His dad played for City and he watched City as a kid from the Kippax. Playing for Arsenal for the best part of 10 years left him with a very strong affinity for Arsenal that only players really understand. As it happens he hopes it's a draw when City play Arsenal - if not he hopes the better team on the day wins.

It must be this - he's been the only consistent supporter of MCFC on MotD since the season started. He used to walk to Maine Road when he was a kid. As for City and The Arse - he played for the Arse but supports City.

Dixon is top lad and never had a bad word for City on MOTD.
I'm 1000% sure he did not say it or if he did it was not in malicious manner.
I really like the guy, he looks so ordinary bloke and not twatty "star" like most of other pundits.
