23,000 opening day against a newly relegated team

very very average not noticed what has been going on with them but taht is a major downturn for such a big ( and hated ) club

Leeds need to be back in the Prem. Yeah we all hate them, but that's what made it an event when we played them. Don't know about their crowds but I look forward to the day they return.

Re: leeds

Leeds Rhinos get 17000+.

One Friday night last season Leeds United took 4000 to an away game and Leeds Rhinos took 4000 to an away game at the same time.

Re: leeds

' went to Leeds yesterday, the bloke next door comes to City 2 or 3 times a season and I go qith him. I paid £35.00 for my Ticket compaired to my girls ticket of £51 today, I know we are watching the Champions but it is still a lot for Southampton.
Anyway I thought there was more than 23k in the ground, a bit like Maine Road and 'Swales Gate' 25K Gates and there seem to be that many in the Kippax alone. It was a good day out and to be honest a good Leeds backing, I for one would like a return to a Trip to Leeds in the fixture list.

Re: leeds

Has that supposed take over fallen through ?

It's vital for them to get up this season. Next year the team that finishes bottom of prem will get more money than City got for winning league last year !!!

So the gap between prem teams and championship teams will be so big that it will be so much harder to ever get promoted after this season.

I for one hope Leeds do it......it's a proper game.

Good point. Rugby league is the traditional sport here, together with Wigan, they're Rugby fans have always been around the 20k mark.
