Leeds United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

O’Reilly is a great prospect and already a good footballer. Clearly, at the moment he is a stop gap lb, probably playing as Pep has doubts about RAN.
Nunes is athletic, quite quick and tries. That’s it though. He is nowhere near good enough. Be ok as backup but considering what we paid for him, we took a bath.
His continued errors are beyond embarrassing.
Great cross for Foden s goal. Ridiculous ball into midfield, gifting Leeds the ball on the edge of our area compounded by inexplicably passing to Calvert Lewin on the edge of our six yard box.
Doubt we could offload him but he needs to be replaced.
We need a right back and probably a left back as many on here have posted.
Not holding breath my though.

Nico O’Reilly is a super player and will go on to be a great player, but not at left fullback

But again, the stature of being the greatest manager should you be fucking about with fullbacks cover

Let's hope that's the last we see of that calamitous defending that occured on Sat to gift Leeds their goals. The Nunes episode was particularly bad. He's improved considerably but a dedicated top notch RB would be very welcome.
I agree, he has improved his general play. But these gargantuan fuck ups are not new, they are a feature of Nunes’s play.
A dedicated, quality rb would be more than welcome :)

Pep and City should know better than anybody else mistakes will happen with players being asked to cover both fullback roles. You are the manager of the opponents and see Nunes and Nico at full-backs, 100% you attack the weakness of Pep

We were wobbling at the back for a period in that 2nd half on Sat, no doubt. A lucky bounce or a slip and they could have been in again. Phil done the business thankfully.

Let me answer your question differently. I was responding to Lavinda about Khaldoon where he said Khaldoon and the board had reneged on commitments - from memory I agreed with Lavinda and said I thought Khaldoon and Soriano and Wilson had all shat on the fans, and I utterly stand by that, big time. If you think they’ve not that’s your prerogative.

As for what’s my business plan, who the fuck are you to ask me that? I’m entitled (as a 66 years old first game in 1964, season ticket every year since 1972) to have a view and I expressed it, why do I now need a business plan?

What I would do is make season tickets available to all who want them (subject to premier league rules on away allowances, match day available allowances etc) and I would make them much cheaper. If fuck off the selling of tickets to third party ticket touting agencies. I’d make sure all the away tickets went to fans with loyalty points with some acceptance of some for corporate sponsors (5%?max). I’d accept the fact that the main body of income streams were tv and commercial income and therefore fucking off the half and halfers in favour of season ticket holders which would create a better atmosphere for better results, which brings more income. Oh and I’d fuck off that cheesy **** who shouts Erling…. 3 times after every Haaland goal.

Sorry if that’s not a detailed enough business plan but it’s all your fucking getting
FOC ;)

First half was great and could have been 3 or 4 up.

Second half we were sleeping and two very careless errors,

Firstly, that pass from Nunes, did he not see that passing it into a crowded area in the middle of the pitch would be risky? Just knock it long if it’s not on.

Gvardiol is so one sided and really misjudged that tackle.

I personally thought it was poor that Dias was telling Donnarumma to go down so they could have a tactics break.
Why ? Game management

Did you not see the 50/50's we lost ?
Its not our fullbacks that are the problem its the midfield where we need Rodri back or another ball winner.
I know we need Rodri back, that is blindingly obvious, Nico G also needs some help (and probably a rest), but leeds were shocking in that first half, and we should really have been 4-0 up.

The second half was largely pathetic, but we still won thankfully.

There was a melee first half where there were multiple challeges going in...Leeds came out with the ball...
People are obsessed with our full backs, its the midfield thats our problem.

You make it clear you're 66. I'm 65 - been going to games since the 60s. Being in our sixties gives us no more or less of a right to express an opinion than younger fans. You want to see cheaper season tickets - our season tickets are the eighteenth most expensive in the Prem. Doesn’t make them cheap but I’d say best value in the Prem considering what we’ve been lucky enough to watch. I'm not disagreeing with all you say, but I disagree that our owners/leaders have in any way shat on us - they've taken us to levels we never believed. Decisions we may not like doesn't automatically equate to shafting us. Much as any normal person wants anything as cheap as possible, the club can’t be run like a charity shop - you know that. Personally, I think it's reasonable to ask you what your ideas are if you're criticising the way the club is run - this forum’s all about exchanging views.

Ok, you've had a season ticket since 72. In 72 (when I was 12 and you would have been 13), we couldn't afford season tickets - even though they were infinitely relatively cheaper than today (Four Yorkshiremen sketch coming on). In fact, in 72 I was helping my mate and his dad sell programmes outside the Kippax - we watched the games for free from the Kippax after selling our allocation.

Looking at the Leeds result and performance last night, maybe Saturday can be viewed a bit more rationally now.

Granted we didn’t play particularly well second half against Leeds, but that’s the PL for you.

The average quality of this league has never been better, the gap between the top and the bottom has rarely been narrower. There are no City/Liverpool 100, 99, 98 or 97 point teams in this league anymore, and the bottom half teams are often better than many teams we play in the Champions League.

If Leeds can cause City problems away from home and beat Chelsea, they aren’t some shite outfit. Maybe they’re just a PL team who just played to their strengths really well in the last game and a half of football that even very good quality teams have struggled with?

Even against Villa a few weeks ago, Leeds were the better side for long stretches and only good finishes by Rogers and some good dribbles forward by Malah were the real difference.
