Nah, the forum loves to pretend players are shit when they're just not playing well, but quality is not our problem as much as application. We have enough quality to beat most PL sides comfortably.

There seems to be a general malaise around the club. We're only getting 7/10 from most of the players.

Pep said they were scared after Wednesday, I don't think we can know exactly what it is from the outside but they look jaded and low on confidence. Uninspired.

If they were all performing at their best and we were losing, then it'd be a quality issue, but I dare you to pick anyone playing at their best right now.

Is that not a Pep issue then? I can't see any other realistic conclusion you can make. I adore the man, but he is responsible for then collective performances and if there's a general malaise around the club that we can't shake does something drastic need to happen? Devil's advocate question of course.

Loads, something we don't score anywhere near enough of in my view, but how many of those late winners are against relegation fodder after throwing away a 2 goal lead? We got the win and i'm for it but there is no sugar coating the problems.

Fine first half but Dopy (Gvardiol) always seems to have a major blunder or 2 in him, coupled with Nunes clearance from the corner flag to the edge of the D.

I think the pattern of play with the possession obsessive doesn't bring out the best of our players. The pattern is so easy to combat, the incessant passing backwards and across the pitch, and then a reverse of nigh on the same thing, 'cos oppos don't have to do anything. They just sit in front of their own goal at varying distances. The speed at which Leeds got the ball upto our defensive third compares very favourably with the tortoise approach we adopt.

Haaland is regarded as an old-fashioned centre forward with some additions to that genre but today he ne'er got a sniff stemming from very little service.

Marmoush still looks awful. He looks way of it and his touches are always loose. His ball retention is poor. One of the worse bits of transfer business for me.

It is baffling looking at how things stand considering the highs felt after that Liverpool game just 3 weeks ago. Our momentum is now completely gone.

Difficult to not look at Pep at the minute, although some seriously below par signings are also to blame.

When you rebuild something the idea is to build it back to the standard it was before.

The reality is we’ve replaced Alvarez with Marmoush, Mahrez with Savinho, Walker with Nunes, Kev with Reijnders and Gundogan with Gonzalez. All inferior to the originals.

City have clearly misunderstood what rebuilding something actually means.

I get that we’re good enough to be second but we’ve played one good half of football in the last six and that against a bottom three side, with two of those matches at home. Pep said “the season really starts” after the pre-holiday international break. I can understand how folks are peeved because so far since the “season has started” we look a bit of a muddle, especially defensively. Today Nunes and Gvardiol made defensive mistakes I don’t expect any trained footballer to make with a lead, let alone those that play for a top side. Sometimes I wonder if common sense game awareness is cast aside by edge starters in a fear of not disappointing/angering Pep and being replaced/sat out.

Concern for me is that when they got their first, we did exactly what we were doing last season and trying to control the ball and kill the game that way rather than going for a goal and killing it by getting another. And it doesn’t work. Didn’t last season and won’t this season because we’re not as good at the control side of the game as we were.

Sure, there are problems. We're still a few players short.

But there are also positives like the team not giving in despite the mistakes. Plus, we're up to second.

Plenty to work on but not the doom and gloom situation on here.

Started well and faded quickly.
Finished the first half strong and could’ve easily had 2 or 3 more goals.
Good performance but not great.
Sadly that’s where the positivity ends.
How the fuck do we end the first half like that and then come out for the second half jogging around the pitch looking like we wasn’t arsed?
2-0 up and we’re jogging around the pitch looking like it’s a matter of time till they score.
2-1 still jogging around the pitch.
Still no urgency, no fight, no desire.
2-2 slightly better but still not enough urgency, fight or desire.
Board goes up, 10 minutes added time and suddenly we actually start trying to win the game.
Our mentality is on the fucking floor.
I’d love to know what we do and say at halftime.
I swear we sit down, have a nice cup of tea, read a newspaper then maybe have a nice massage.
We certainly don’t come out fired up.
Today is not an isolated incident, we’ve started many second halves like that.
That’s a mentality thing.
It’s piss poor is what it is.
I nearly left early cos I was convinced we’d lose that game.
So I should be happy with the 3 points, but I’m not.
We’re a spineless team who have a habit of downing tools.
We’re still night and day from what we once were.
