Leeds United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

As an foc i remember the Leeds team and fans of the late sixties and the seventies, both were equally horrible. For quite a number of years that memory faded as they were never in the same league as ourselves. Time clouded my judgment and given they have a large fanbase and a reasonably successful past, i found myself hoping they'd get promotion. I thought they'd be a welcome addition to the league. How wrong was i! Sure they add atmosphere, especially at their ground but their fans are still horrible violent bigoted scum.
Add to that they are the biggest crying bad losers outside of miseryside. The absolute shite they are posting all over social media is a joke.

I get it must hurt coming from 2-0 down and losing in injury time, but let's be honest in spite of not being at our best the game should have been over at halftime. It wasn't and two bits of horrendous defensive mistakes got them back into it. Sure they probably deserved it and caused us problems but our inexplicable jitters contributed greatly.

Now i read we cheated because Donnarumma feigned an injury, Silva should have been sent off for diving, we can't fill our ground, blah blah blah. That's before we even touch on the violence that always accompanies these wankers. So sorry Leeds the amnesty is over. You were and always will be scum. The sooner you disappear back into oblivion and we never have to see or hear your moronic thick as shit fans again will be a cause for celebration.
They forgot to mention that their first goal came from a free kick that never was initially, perfectly good and legal shoulder charge by Nunes. We were unlucky that the pen rebound went stressful back to the taker, and else and that doesn't go in so while we had a bad patch they weren't that deserving of their 2 goals either. No mention of their player going down in the box in injury time trying to get another pen, he wasn't booked either so they Hebrew nothing to complain about. Even the penalty was more a coming together, their man went over Gvardiol, he wasn't actually brought down or kicked like Phil was last week.

All I remember of Leeds in the 70's is then throwing bricks over the wall at the end of a match at Elland Rd when we'd just beaten them 1-0 and we were kept behind by police, bricks flying everywhere and we had nowhere to go. 3 of our fans ended up in hospital that night.

I like Gvardiol, but including him in the Premier League team of the week after his performance on Saturday is an odd one. Good to see Foden in there.

It's not the fees, it's the salaries. That money soon starts to disappear and if we got a patch where we're not winning anything for a few seasons then it suddenly becomes a lot harder to balance the books (well unless you're United of course, then you can spend anything you like without question).

We don't need 3 world class players, we need time for the new lads to settle in and get a decent run without injuries. They did OK for us last season, got us back up towards the top when many in here were saying we wouldn't even reach the Champions league, and now we're second on merit and still in 4 competitions so we're not exactly having the poor season that many suggest, but we're still in a rebuilding process which we've had to bring forward and it will take time.

We've seen enoughfrom all the new signings to realise that they do have the ability but they need time to feel, to get used to playing together and for most of them that means playing in a new league in a new country. It's not going to happen overnight no matter who you are or how much you spend, you only have to look at the rags over the past decade and Liverpool right now to see that.

We need 2 fullbacks 1000%
You can not keep using cover players hoping they will be world-class, The better teams see it as a weakness.
Nunes and Nico made the mistakes that allowed Leeds to get back into the game.

I think we will even more than 3 players, but the squad is so unbalanced right now. City have 4 keepers on the books and 5 centerbacks, 3 wingers. That alone is 12 players ?

For me it’s not full back where we are getting dominated it’s midfield where we lose control, Nico G desperately needs a partner, and it ain’t Reijnders. Hopefully Rodders is back before Jan. We are desperate for another midfield tackler, tracker backer. IMHO anyway. Although Nunes had a shocking second half yesterday I’ll grant you

Nunes and Nico Oriely are a major problem if they are the main fullbacks ? What happens if one of them picks up an injury or gets a red card and misses 3 games, You have to have a balanced squad and a base to work from

March 2012 late City comeback to salvage 3-3 draw at home to Sunderland. We all left the stadium thinking we'd blown the league and gifted it to the rags.

Without that point we never experience 93:20, Sergio's legacy is very different and our history is changed forever.
One thing I'll always remember about that game was Kiddo taking over in the technical area getting behind the team for the last part of the match when Mancini went and sat down head in hands.

But what it needs are 2 new fullbacks and a hard-working box-to-box midfielder in the winter window ? Forget the cost just spend whatever it takes to get them in
Nico O'Reilly could prove to be a top class box to box midfielder, with all the attributes and already integrated into the City team and play. Amazing player considering how young and inexperienced?

Also the 2-2 draw against Sunderland during the run-in in 2014, when Mannone dropped it in the net from Nasri's shot. Left the stadium thinking we'd fucked it.

Didn't we sign one of them but never play him
You mean that guy who reached virtual cult status after a handful of games last year? Who was the first name in most pre-match lineups posted on here until an injury?

The one who made a mockery of the pathetic argument that being in a strange country at a young age when you don't speak the language should affect you once you're on the pitch?

You mean him?

I can't believe how easily and stupidly we gifted them their two goals. Wtf was Nunes thinking, he could've just smacked that ball away but for some reason he just passed it to Calvert-Lewin. Then Gvardiol acts like a thick twat when there was absolutely no need for that tackle whatsoever, and to top it off Donarumma saves it but instead of pushing the ball to the side gives it straight back to Nmecha to tap in. Both totally avoidable goals, use your brains lads from now on

Yes I was shocked by Nunes. Why don’t he just boot it away with his left foot. Give the corner or throw in. Not a goal

Gvardiol only did two things wrong all game.

He was pinging balls out wide to the wings that a certain Liverpool one-time Ballon d’Or nominee centre back could only dream of, he scored, almost scored another, almost got an assist, and acrobatically got out of the way of the winning goal… he was mostly fine on a weekend that no team bar Newcastle played really well.

Don’t forget Deeney won’t have watched all 90mins of every game either.

Sorry but that statement from City smacks of bullshit and is an insult to the fan who was injured. How the fuck can having a broken leg be "nowhere near as serious as the rumours"?

That’s before we get on to this “no Leeds fans involved” bollocks. Sure, maybe I should be backing off from going all in on the criticism as I didn’t witness it myself but I’m not having it that a long-standing poster on here who I personally know is bullshitting or exaggerating.

It only makes sense if the blue who got tickets for these Leeds fans was the one who attacked the City fan.

I’ve dm’d lavinda about it, that I agree with him, so he’s back in the game at 3 1. I think Khaldoon is a two faced bullshit merchant - a very smooth operator, a clever corporate bullshitter. He told us he was going to keep the working class roots of the club and protect the legacy fanbase - absolute fucking bollocks, the board of directors of which he is chair are doing the absolute opposite. Well said Lavinda, and let the secretive dm merchants come out of the woodwork.

PS I’ve got 5 dm’s telling me I’ve got a 10 inch cock, and you know what, they are all fucking liars
What's your business plan for the club then - or what would you like to see happen specifically?

Is they an update on the fan? Let's hope he has listed his ticket for next Saturday or the club will be bombarding him with emails.

I agree, but I never forgot. The younger generation were saying the same about glad that were back. Absolute scum. I'll always remember them in the 90's even punching dads with kids coming out of the family stand at Maine Road shouting "too easy Manchester".
