Leeds Vs Man City FA Cup Jan. 7th. 1978

Anyone at Leeds at the start of the 88-89 season. They sent a flare into the City fans in the top stand, be good to have them back in the prem again though.

...has anyone seen this documentary called leeds utd the wilderness years.this is episode no5 ,a behind the scenes view of the fA cup tie the year before.

Not seen that before - but I was there for that one - went bu coach rather than the train. Remember the crush on the terrace, that save by Corrigan, and then the scrambley goal by Cherry and running the gauntlet back to the coaches. All good fun!

Was just surfing through Youtube looking for something else (not porn honest) when this popped up

You tend to forget football used to be like this - Gordon McQueen takes out Peter Barnes - No Penalty!

Then McQueen punches his own keeper! - cue stern talking to from Ref

Oh, and a full scale pitch invasion - Enjoy

Top day out
Still love going to Leeds
Not quite the same edge before or after the matches and no pitch invasions these days
I was close to the half way line in the paddock for that match - very tasty atmosphere

Certainly wasn't all one way, the Maine Rd game after this was mental Leeds getting battered everywhere, with the rags joining in to give them a real Manchester welcome.
In the early 90s a Leeds fan who I knew approached me in my local and screamed "theirs going to be a riot" in my face. This was on a Saturday before we played them on the Sunday. Next time I saw him he was black and blue and told me he'd been jumped and battered in front of his girl friend at Maine Rd, he had lost his enthusiasm for rioting. Rough for us at Elland Rd but equally bad for them in Manchester.

One game at Elland Road was indeed both City and Utd lads at Elland Road. Utds last away game that particular season...can't remember the year.

yes ..it happened
