Been set a task by a fellow blue - name the best City starting 11 that I have ever witnessed playing live

Now I started going around 1972, so I've seen a player or two, but call me old fashioned, I'm stumped for a left back

Obviously I know the answer isn't Angelino, Brightwell (D), Tarnat or Thatcher

I'm pretty sure it can't by Clichy, Kolly, Mendy or Pearce

But is it Phelan, or Power, or do I actually have to go back as far as Donachie? Pardoe was still knocking about in 72 I imagine, but I'd be lying if I said I can actually remember him playing

Or maybe the correct answer is somebody that I have completely forgotten about in my brain-addled aged state

Any tips, Blue-Mooners?

Stuart Pearce was a superb left back. One of the very best. He had his prime elsewhere but still did a job at City.

Best ever is a difficult one. It’s been a problem position for years.

Probably Phelan for me - how good would he be in our current team.

Have a soft spot for Tiatto, and Tarnat earlier in his career might have been a possibility.
