Leicester (H) Post Match Thread.

Some reflections on last night:

I was very disappointed with Leicester.

All the pre-match hype was about how dangerous the Foxes are on the counter and the speed they possess to really worry our 'dodgy' defence, but they hardly had a shot all game and considering Brenda said they were coming to attack, they certainly put a lot of bodies behind the ball.

When Vinnie started moving forward with the ball, I didn’t even think about him shooting, so for a split second, I couldn’t believe he’d actually scored. It was a fabulous strike, and with its context, one of the greatest goals that the Etihad has yet seen.

You could see that the occasion got to him during the lap of appreciation. He was close to tears for much of it.
Personally, Liverpool aside I thought they were best prem side ive seen at the Eithad this season. Having said that it might have been lot simpler if Sane started over Foden, as the latter just wasn't in the game at all.

Leicester were quite impressive last night and should have equalised with that chance but we have been long overdue a bit of luck .

Don't know if anybody has posted it but did you see the look on lee masons face when nacho put his chance wide?

He actually looked like he was willing it to go in and then proceeded to look royally fucked off .

Very strange behaviour from the 4th official.

That said Sane was woeful when he came on. Pep was furious with him on several occasions.

Watching again as Kun strolls off and goes past the ref anyone else notice Dean indicate hamstring? Hopefully nothing..

They are just football fans at the end of the day. They can try to hide their loyalties but it always comes out at some point.

Ye noticed it when I watched the game again he was gutted

Leicester did what was expected of most teams that come to the Etihad.
They drop into a 5-4-1 as soon as they don’t have the ball. They made the space very limited, but we were very narrow going forward, moving the ball quicker against teams that employ this tactic is where we will capitalise.
We have a habit of regaining possession while 4 or more of their players are ahead of the ball and yet we slow down and go backward to allow them to regroup and set up defensively. The dippers are decent at exploiting the lack of defenders and being more direct when attacking. We need to be more direct, we definitely have the players to do that.

You must have been the only one disappointed! Had they been a bit better at the end they may have got a draw. They started strongly and I was surprised at how well they played during the first half. Obviously, we dominated the second half but Liverpool could not have complained about the effort they put in.
