Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

True, I'd rather look at a number of positives, as I posted earlier.

When it went to penalties, I wasn't arsed if we went through, or out, but even the penalties were positive for me (apart from Raheem - but I don't even mind that, I doubt he'll do that again).

Muric made one good save in the game, it might not have gone in, but he didn't know, but for me his relaxed attitude on the ball was great, then to save 2 penalties, and close to a third, by not just diving, was a positive. Garcia looking comfortable in our back four was another huge positive, we don't play an easy game. Foden was great. Stones, comfortable out of position, even if a little safe. Zinchenko for all the flack he's getting, he isn't a full back, made one mistake which cost us, but otherwise I thought he did OK, and then had the balls to take a penalty, and nailed it, winning us the tie. KdB and Aguero back playing.

There were senior players out there tonight who really didn't perform, but we're through, and I'm more than happy about it.
Spot on post, can’t fault any of your argument but the naysayers really do piss me off.

Just ignore ignorant, self entitled posters, piss me right off, we have no right to win every game. Tonight was hard fought and we came through, we are experiencing great football and results but for most of us it’s not why we originally supported our Club.

My first season ticket was in 93/94, no entitlement here. We were shit compared to what we're capable of, I fully expected a tough game when I saw the team sheet and we got it. I'm happy, we gave experience and looked at young players, tested new things out and got minutes in players coming back from injury, and still went through so happy days. Mahrez and Walker were wank though, shame Danillo is injured as I think he's play really well when asked to this season, and Kyle really needs a break.

He is though, by a long way.

Walker seems to be having a mental breakdown, but he's still miles miles miles better at defending than Zinchenko will ever be & has pace to cover others & height/physique to cover others as he did with Garcia on headers tonight.

Walker could do with a rest. Zinchenko could do with being replaced completely at fullback & if we don't think he will make it in midfield, sold.

Mental breakdown sounds a bit worrying. I just think he is a bit knackered and I am sure Pep wants to rest gim but tonight wasnt the night. He needed him to deal with Gray and overall I thought he did it really well. But he will always make the odd silly pass and he does have a silly defensive moment in him. We really do need a fit Danilo for a month or so. Zin does a lot right in the way Pep wants him to play but a bit like Walker there is that switched off moment which seems to be costing us.

Just got back.
Should it have been a penalty with Jesus? Looked nailed on from where I was stood.
It was a foul, but outside the box, might have carried on into the box possibly. It was referred to VAR for a penalty, but 2 minute later they're not going to give a free kick on the edge of the box, there'll be plenty worse given/not given.

He did just get the slightest of touches. Sky commentators looked at it and were suggesting it was a pen but not clear and obvious error so VAR right not to overrule
