Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

It was a foul, but outside the box, might have carried on into the box possibly. It was referred to VAR for a penalty, but 2 minute later they're not going to give a free kick on the edge of the box, there'll be plenty worse given/not given.
He did just get the slightest of touches. Sky commentators looked at it and were suggesting it was a pen but not clear and obvious error so VAR right not to overrule
Cheers. Forgot there was VAR.

Very tricky match tonight given its less than a week before xmas away against a decent side who wanted to win. Throw in the weather that made for a slippy wet surface and a fair bit of wind and quite honestly getting through has to be viewed as a positive across the board. Now with a one in three chance of playing Burton Albion in a domestic cup semi final, which would annoy the rags.

It really wasnt a night to expect a vintage City performance, nor to take a win for granted, credit to the players for getting through in the end.

Raheems penalty was ridiculous and he deserves a massive bollocking for it. On the odd occasion he just puts his foot through a ball it often goes in, for some reason give him time to think and he over complicates chances and fucks them up. Even by his standards tonights penalty was an epic brain freeze. To become a great player he will have to cut these aboritions out.

Is it wrong to take a panenka penalty? Sign of his growing confidence. A shame he missed it. Yes it was annoying but plenty of top players do this in even more important games. What matters is not his method but that he missed.

I remember people writing off Bernado Silva, with the same sort of comments, last season.
To be honest, I think his pace is fine- it's just the fact he always cuts back inside to his trusty left foot. We need to try him on the left as both Sterling and Sane offer for more variety in their play on the right. The one time he popped up on the left tonight he beat his man and released a dangerous cross shot that almost caught the keeper out.

Aboritions aint good, people start inventing words to describe them
As for Ward he had no need to interact with Sterling at all,its just a missed pen end of story no agenda

Thought we more than deserved to win the game in normal time.

Dropped off in intensity a little in the second half which was to be expected given the make up on the starting 11.

We have a great record in this comp in recent years no doubt Pep wants to win it big time and you will see s strong line in the first leg of the semi be it against Burton , Arsenal , Chelsea or Bournemouth.

Absolute stonewaller when Ice Cube brought Jesus down on 85 mins. The ref is a cheating ****.
He got the slightest nick on the ball so I can see why it wasn't given.
Saying that, I still think he got more of Jesus and it should have been a penalty.

Just back, Mason & the Linesman on our side...hang your fucking heads on shame.

Occasionally the officials have a chance to shaft us, a window of opportunity if you like, they failed last night.
