Soon as I saw that team I knew we were fucked. We need to massively improve next week. Shocking start to the season

I think the start of the season has gotten very messy last few years. Why can’t the transfer window close before the first game and the calendar seems messed up. Some of our players not even back yet?

One of those games where, to be honest, the only positive thing either side could really take out (other than fitness) was Leicester can say they won with an 87th minute penalty after a clumsy challenge. Apart from that, not much to shout about. Leicester looked ahead of us in terms of preparation, we looked better second half, both teams missed a few chances and misplaced a few passes. Get back home, get back to work both teams must do better at weekend.

I’m pretty unimpressed by how badly undercooked we look. Rodri and Mahrez look like they’ve been eating all summer.

Not massively arsed, team a bit 'mix and match' ,whereas their line up resembled more their 1st team. Played okay, they were on top 1st half we were the better team after the break without creating enough.
Of the kids,thought Edozie looked good as did Cole, not quite so sure about Knight though!
No complaints about pen, but on another day we could have got that one In the 1st half!
Even though I've had a good run of games without losing when I actually see us 'properly live' ,we just seem to lose 1:0 when I decide to watch us live on the box!

Exactly the same. I don’t get the I don’t care thing. I’m a City fan every time they play I want them to win every time. I know they won’t but I fucking want them to and if they don’t it annoys me. Doesn’t stop my life but it genuinely annoys me. There’s other people to deal with the finance, training, managing and so on me? I’m just a fan I want City to win period.

Some of the more stupid comments cheer me up when the game isn't great.

There are however more than the odd silly sod getting their knickers in a twist because,our mostly half fit reserve team lost to a silly penalty against a decent first team outfit.

Usual huge over reaction on here. Look at the 2 teams Leicester were at full strength as far as they could be.

City looked leggy which is to be expected given the same players are the only ones to play in pre-seaon. Leicester have had next to no players playing in summer tournaments and would have benefitted from more build up conditioning.

In spite of that we still controlled most of the game and would have won with that extra sharpness this game will give us

Pep unlike posters on here can see the bigger picture of the benefit of not rushing back many of our players.

It will be a tricky start to the season but we will benefit from the strategy as we did last season in the long run

Need to be on it next week from the get go. Simply not acceptable to not play our strongest 11 whether players are unhappy or not. Pep needs to manage it.

He did get comforted. It was his fault, poor control, from a poor ball, slow to react. Get a grip. They're professionals. It's a pre season friendly, he'll learn from it.

Not much in it with nearly all our starters not present. Moved it around well second half.
