Out for a sunday stroll with the mrs, i opted for a walk at pennington flash. We followed th signs for leigh town centre on the c anal and ended up on 1953! We stopped at the 'goose at the spinning jenny'. Disgusting food, flat drinks and filthy glasses and tables. All i am missing is black and white vision and a tanner or thrupny bit in my pocket and i would have it made. When the doves wrote 'black and white town' i am positive they got their inspiration from leigh.

I live near there, should have said mate, would have met up for a pint.

The Goose is pretty dire, most of the paces in the town centre are.
 
If you're near Pennington, there's a pub on St Helens Road that does great food called the Robin Hood. Nice beer garden out back too.

Well worth a visit if you're up their again GQ.
