As far as im aware the rules on player quotas are different in italy think they limit the amount of non eu players you can sign a year meanwhile in england its you have have to hqve 8 players trained in england in your 25 man squad, the problem with buying before you sell is the fact that teams then now you a desperate to sell which will lower the fees they are willing to offer
That is not correct. The CL rules are the same across europe. You can have 17 players from anywhere, a further 4 trained at an english club and a further 4 who are over 21 and club trained. There is NO quota there is maximum numbers based on where players trained.
Don't forget you can have as many players as you like, in theory we could have say 50 players in our squad. 25 registered to play the prem and 25 for CL. All I believe are eligible to play in the two cup competitions. The major fault with this would be keeping players happy which is why most clubs try to aim for having identical players for the two major competitions. But if the likes of Kolorov cannot be found a club they could just be omitted from the squad lists if push comes to shove.
That is not correct either, premier leage rules are very similar to CL rules. If you are registered in the PL you can play league cup, i'm not sure about FA cup but it might be the same i.e. based on PL squads. So you could have two squads for different things but they would not all be able to play domestic cups and it would be a complete shambles!
There is no way round the rules - Zuculini was the 18th foreigner last year and look what happened to him!
