Sane Agüero Sterling is the best front three we’ve ever had. We’ll never know the ins and outs of what happened and why he left but we are weaker as a result.

I also remember thinking Mahrez was a stupid signing as we didn’t need him. We then shifted sterling to the left and sane was left with less opportunities.

Ironically though sterling grew into a better player once he was moved wings.

The biggest issue isn’t replacing Sane, think Torres will do that, think Dias will replace Kompany over the next year, and probably play more. Not David but think Foden will continue improving.
The biggest issue this season is Aguero’s fitness, I would guess we have a replacement in mind, I’d guess he’s a top level player if he’s good enough to be Aguero’s replacement and expect to be playing and that person was either not available this summer , or we couldn’t afford him this summer, or we simply couldn’t find space in the squad and keep 3 strikers happy. Problem is how fit can we keep Aguero in his last year.
Think next summer we’ll see Aguero replaced, a left back and Fernandinho replaced. Only then can we judge how our rebuilt team looks compared to the team of the last 9 years.

They are the three key signings for the summer I agree. I wonder if Messi is still on the cards though once his contract ends or even in Jan.

I don't miss Sane because he didn't want to be here, I do miss having genuine pace on the left wing, I really want to see Torres out there because he can actually do what Raz thinks he can do, but just staggers into defenders trying to do.

That was exactly what i was dreading the day we signed Mahrez .... he was the same kind of player as Sane, and at £50m-£60m clearly hadn't been signed purely to sit on the bench ... i kinda saw the problems coming even before Sane refused to sign a new contract.

Not sure what you’ve based the Sterling comparison on. Maybe seeing Torres away to Burnley reserves? I guarantee you one thing though, no natural wide player we have now or in the near future will come close to this:

It was difficult to tell with Sane , in training, and in his early interviews , he appeared to be quite happy at City .... it was from around the time of Mahrezs arrival that Sane first appeared to show any real discontent at City ... whatever happened with Sane, he appears from his recent interviews at Bayern, to genuinely respect Pep for improving him as a player, and says he will always have a real affection for City as a club.

Absolutely, his loss hurts City and was never going to be able to find a similar profile player

Still, a lot to be optimistic as far as Torres goes

He's done really well Sterling , in the time he's been at City ..... although in reality, if he'd put away all the chances he's been presented with over that time , he could probably have doubled, or even trebled, that goals total !

Good we have a load of trophies to show for them, like 17/18 when he played predominantly on the right and score result changing goals instead of just bulk scoring in easier games.
