Leroy Sané

Great business. Buy him, get the best out of him and some trophies, sell him for a potential profit, with a few career changing injuries to boot.

I'm reluctant to celebrate or wish injuries on players, though there are some who would push that to the very limit. When all is said and done, it's their living. A lucrative one, certainly, at least at the elite level.

No didn’t mean it like that, though can see that’s how it might look. I meant he goes having been brilliant for us pre injuries, but won’t reach those levels again post injuries, yet we still got a great fee in return.

He’s been absolutely ruined by Loew.

playing him at rwb in their previous game.

He was one of the worlds best left wingers and Loew left him out of a World Cup squad, then brings him in to play rwb.

His confidence is utterly shot. I’m sure he’s regretting his choices and he’ll be at Everton or Leicester within a year I reckon.

Fair enough. Re the fee, I can’t help feeling we had our pants pulled down. But it was more or less out of our hands, with him only having a year left on his contract. And, of course, his injury. When you recall his 17/18 form, and modern transfer fees, €60m (inc add-ons) is very low.

I watched the SKY "Centurions" and "100 Club" videos last night, and I'd kinda forgotten how sensational he was.

Sad to see he was only brought on last night once the German manager had thrown the towel in (no pun intended honest), just before he brought on that kid Musiala.

That long injury really screwed with his career in my view, shame for the lad

He was sensational with us, for a time, but he was not performing and did not wish to stay at the club when we let him go. It is unfortunate but I suspect the mentality to be a great is not a strength.
