Lesser known / Quirky records City hold

First team to win a European and domestic trophy in the same season. 1970.
Yes but no......it's open to interpretation.....

Leeds won the 67/68 Inter Cities Fairs Cup - this was not a UEFA sanctioned trophy so some say it counts, some do not. Leeds also won the League Cup that season too.

However, the Fairs Cup actually ended during the early stages of the 68/ 69 season..... So was that a double or not?
Although Leeds went on to be Champions in May 69 so if you dismiss the first year, they did win 2 cups the 2nd year.

Ah, the old Fairs Cup thing. It's a no from me, Phil, it was a quirky competition for sure. Was it not rooted in an invitational thing based on cities staging a fair, or something weird?

By the way, good to see you on the Ian Cheeseman vlog.

For a short while we were part of Wembley history ref 2 teams having players score a hat trick in same game till some twert scrubbed one of mark lillis’s

It would have also been the fastest hat trick in wembley istory
