Licence Fee (TV)

If you own a tv I think that the presumption is that you watch it, if you don't own a tv why are you wetting your knickers about bailiffs and such forth? I will take you at your word that you don't watch tv but I am not sure that line of defence would stand up in court. Maybe the legal minds on here can help you out with that one.

He's not going to court : /

Goal is to ensure TV license don't have your details. You can be Mr Khan for 3 months and then switch to Mr Smith and keep switching. They won't do shit. They will just send letters addressed to those names, and at most will send people round to your place, don't open the door. And if u did by mistake answer the door to one of them, tell em ur Mr Bond. They will just log it and send letters. Don't open em. Return to sender stating the person does not live there.

Not the point. But you know this.

He could own a TV for a multitude of reasons such as gaming, catch-up, dvd's or just for placing ornaments on top of and should not be sent threatening letters by no-marks who do not have the faintest regard for the spending of license payers money. The Beeb have zero confidence in their own product, otherwise they would cut to chase and place it to market like all the other entrepreneurs. If it was placed to open market they would verily starve to death and for all the pigs snorting in that gravy trough it would not make for a desirable outcome. If you love their media then buy into it, but do not force the general public at risk of criminality to also love it. An archaic dinosaur that should live out it's tenure in a museum, in fact make that a mausoleum.

Apparently I’m one of 276,000 people who’ve decided to do our bit to defund the BBC in the last 4 months.... that’s an awful lot of court cases and an awful lot of jails needing to be built. I’ll take my chance I think.

Lets set up an imaginary scenario where you have no desire to pay and after that rap a tat tat at your door you lose the will to fight, sobbing uncontrollably whilst blowing snot bubbles you drag their appointed agent inwards to fess all. You will not attend court and the case will be proved in your absence. Usual fines are around the one to one hundred and fifty mark even if they do threaten an imaginary thousand. The vast majority will be lone woman at home who do not know the law and this is what TV Licensing sadly prey on, with courts fining them at sittings in mass trenches. So will you be inviting anyone in to your castle any time soon ? I would not let a Capita agent into my home even if they had a warrant and at no time in the past have TV Licencing ever forced entry to exercise one. It is not their policy to do so and if they call the police they are only their as observers to make sure a breach of the peace does not occur. Even in absolute extreme cases that they attended with warrant for which to get this they have to prove live broadcasts are being watched, they will still not come in if an entry is refused.
