Lidl

It's only when you use Lidl or Aldi for a bit do you realize how ripped off we've been. Always find it amusing that the big supermarket people always call the two stores "discounters" as if they are just doing it temporarily or as if the shops are substandard. NO they are simply offering food for somewhere like the price should be. It's just we are brainwashed into thinking parting with 150 quid a week on the food shop is some sort of good deal. Family of 3 adults and a little one in aldi.... 60 quid.... Weekly shop done!.... Allowing 20 quid to spend getting some niceties in the rip off stores. All we need is the government to step in and do to the petrol and utilities rip offs what Aldi has done to Tesco. Financial reality check!

retail conditioning. The common person will not get the cheapest it's sub standard or the most expensive it's a rip off.

The old guard of Tesco and Sainsburys told us they were delivering what the customer wanted - WRONG - they were delivering what they wanted us to have coz it maximised their profit. They would tell you there was no market for funny cheese and meats and nobody outside a deli would even look at snails................and that attitude has bitten them right on the arse. Good

I once read that major supermarkets worked to a 30% profit margin whereas Aldi and Lidl work to 4%.

Anyhow Aldi gets our vote for everything except the caviar and quails’ eggs.

You've clearly never sampled Sainsbury's 'Taste the Difference' sausages.

Tesco are a dodgy outfit. Over stretched themselves believing their own hype. Them someone who wasn't as beholden to shareholders moved in. As an ex Tesco worker in my past.... I for one will have a party when they wither and die!
