The thing is, Jesus isn’t a first choice team member generally even without Messi in the squad.

Aguero's coming off a nasty knee injury at 32. It's already taken longer than expected to heal.

It wouldn't be a surprise at all if Jesus is our starting striker next season.

I wish people didn't insult Gundogan by hoping he would move to Barca. Is it really that difficult to comprehend that Gundogan plays because the best manager in the world decides so? Without Pep the chance to sign Messi this window would be dead in the water. Yet people still pretend they know better than Pep whether Gundogan is good enough.

and yet our loss stats all coincide with his starts.

the stats don’t lie, we lose more with him in the team than when he doesn’t play.

This was depressing reading until the end where the mask fully slips. We have told him he should now stay at Barca? Nice try spanish paper trying to make Messi stay but if we had there is no way you would have this info, especially so soon. That is 100% bull but you did have me going for a moment you cheeky boys.

Spot on. All very plausible but they just lost it at the end.

The stats don't lie, so Pep is being foolish by not trusting the stats like you?

What about the possibility that stats are only part of the story and Pep knows better than you and the other doubters on here?

I'd be very surprised if we were willing to offer up Gabriel Jesus as part of the deal.
Me too but as many suggested that is unlikely to be City's offer.

As others have pointed the story maybe inaccurate but it's still an interesting talking point because we appear to be approaching negotiations. So how do you determine a transfer fee?
  • It reflects intrinsic value
  • Material circumstances such as contract expiry, player's age, and attitude.
And fans don't know for certain the player's material circumstance although City probably do. The contract maybe one requiring legal interpretation, or it maybe clear-cut.

My cap would be Jesus and Garcia for Messi. Above that it is not worthwhile, and just as importantly City would seem to be able to strike a better deal through a buy-out (however that depends on his contract).

i can show you several champions league losses if you don’t want to believe the stats.

I think he’s a decent player but for our tempo he is shite. He’s also not a creator in the slightest. Literally everyone can see he’s a passenger 90% of the time.

Barca can have him all day every day, Messi or not for me.

Maybe, just maybe, Pep knows better than you. I guess Messi would agree.
