After sailing so close to the wind with the CAS victory the last thing we need is another long drawn out saga, if Messi was a few years younger then it may be worth going out on a limb for, but i just don’t think it’s worth the hassle for a 33 year old who could blow a huge hole in our finances. It’s Barcelona‘s problem to sort out, let’s stay well away.

But do you really think the Messi camp will put the papers into FIFA? It doesn't sound that way in my eyes.

There are reports out that City would not want to go through another court situation. Which suggests to me that the only way of dealing with this is if we sort a fee out.
This is between Messi & Barcelona, who are the parties to his contract. If it needs external intervention then it's a FIFA tribunal that will deal with it. City don't need to be involved in any way in legal proceedings.

I can't imagine for one second that the City hierarchy are flapping as much as some on here. Cool as ice, working flat out in the background speaking to all their sponsors, lawyers going over all documentation and options, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if Jorge Messi has already sorted out most of the details with City already.

Im sorry and feel bad. But Messi is not coming.

Maybe if no fee can be agreed in the next 10 days say and registration papers are lodged and given provisional green light by FIFA I think we could filibuster any subsequent court case till March when Barça fans will certainly vote to draw a rational line under this sorry affair ( for them at least) and drop any case and move on

If it went to actual court as opposed to FIFA, I don't think any delaying tactics would be needed.

It'll take fucking forever. He might have left City before the decision comes in.
