Messi’s consistency over the last 15 years is absolutely insane. A blend of the goals of Pele combined with the skill of Maradona. Better passer than Zidane and better than Beckham was at set pieces as well...

I'm in my 50's and Maradona did it all, Clubs and Country, where as Messi great player that he is (and would love to see him at City by the way) only did it for Barca, he needs to prove himself in what is the best League in the world before it's to late...

This guy had a disputable claim to be the best player of the time about 4 or 5 years ago, albeit Ronaldo MKII was then, is now and will be next year, a far superior player. And a player who has proven his self in 3 leagues now whilst Messi was stropping about In the centre circle.

If we we're offered him for free and he agreed to play for no more than 50k a week I might be tempted but even then I'd have serious doubts.

He has used this club for years to improve his lot at Barcelona. No more. He's a twat.

Like, Maradona was obviously an amazing player and is in the argument for best ever but if we’re being honest, how many people actually saw him play week in week out? Certainly not enough to say Messi can’t lace his boots. By comparison, probably every match Messi has played has been televised.

I'm 36 and I can't ever remember him playing. Maradona probably goes down ahead of Messi for winning them the World Cup but stats surely don't lie Messi was / is far superior goals & assists wise to Maradona, in fact it's not even close. I've seen plenty of Maradona videos and he did nothing Messi doesn't do know imo.

Comparing Maradona & Messi reminds me of Bell & Silva, loads of my older friends are convinced Bell was better but having not seen Bell play I dunno I find it incredibly hard to believe lol.

Maradona cheated to do it for his country, and then single handedly destroyed Messi's chance of doing it by ruining their golden generation with stupid fucking squad selections, tactics and generally being useless as a manager. Then in 2014, Higuain shit the bed in the final. I'd take the honest guy who failed than the cheat to win guy any day, but I guess that's why I'm a City fan and not a rag or dipper.

So because Messi has remained loyal to 1 club Maradona was better? Lol Messi doesn't need to prove Jack fucking shit, he's literally just taken over Pele for most goals scored for 1 club doubt anybody will beat it in our lifetime.

Using Pele as an example was bad because he played all of his real career at one club Santos, the other being the NY Cosmos which was more of a Harlem Globetrotter affair.
