Messi is probably the best player to ever play the game, and you said it he is still the best in the world. An aging messi would probably drop deeper into midfield and still boss it.Messi is obviously still great - the best player in world football right now IMO. But he's aging.
Pursing Messi is a distraction IMO given Messi's age. I'd much rather we focus on long-term players.
Indeed he very well might - but at the cost of potential player disharmony - and probably not being able to sign some other top-top player due to FFP...Messi is probably the best player to ever play the game, and you said it he is still the best in the world. Sounds like hes coming but i cant say anything for legal reasonsSoriano. (MEN)
"I can't say anything about [Lionel] Messi," he told Catalunya Radio.
"Anything I say, even if it is obvious, can make a misunderstood headline. It's clear that Messi has earned the right to choose what he wants to do. He's the best in the world.
"In previous situations when there were rumours about a potential departure from Barca, he had some obstacles. Now he has nothing that blocks him. He will choose where to play. We're aware of all the players in the world, but we don't participate in individual decisions. As Manchester City CEO, I can't say anything."
Oh no please don’t, if he lands in City I will pray he doesn’t play in midfield... he has to stick to a striker role. He has to score goals!!!An aging messi would probably drop deeper into midfield and still boss it.
We wouldn't need to pay a transfer fee for messi though, just wages which I guess would include a large proportion of them being incentives and bonuses etc etcIndeed he very well might - but at the cost of potential player disharmony - and probably not being able to sign some other top-top player due to FFP...
I love Messi - one of my favorite all time players. But signing him, would, IMO, probably be a mistake... if he's on a free, that's another story - but team chemistry might well be upset even so.
I'd rather much that we sign Haaland and skip the Messi mambo.
