This very very fishy firm, it isn't called Uefa by any chance is it?I just finished reading The Panama Papers and there’s an entire chapter devoted to Messi and Jorge’s tax dodging. They use a very, very fishy firm to squirrel money away.
If we are going to do this, they better be squeaky clean because they have no idea how the gutter press will come after them out of a hatred for us.
i agree with most of those points but I don’t agree that Messi now is miles better than David Silva at his peak. In fact I would have Silva in his peak over Messi in decline every day of the week.
I'm sorry but Messi on the decline is not 'miles better' than David Silva in his peak and to even mutter the words is a complete and utter nonsense. You can whip out stats like the above all you want but you forget the differences in the leagues and the teams therein. No one makes those kinds of numbers in the Premier League because its not got teams like Getafe et al who get pumped 10-0 by both the big 2 home and away every year. That's not to take away from Messi or his achievements, he is the best player ever but to suggest what you said in your first sentence is utterly preposterous and evidences how little you understand the game of football. That's because you're a good, loyal Manchester City fan who's loved watching Silva for 10 years.
Messi on the decline got 31 goals and 27 assists last season playing mostly as an attacking midfielder, and if Silva had the ability to do half of that at his peak, he would have done. And before someone chimes in with Silva's game not being about goals and assists, Messi has everything else as well as the goals and assists.
We will always love Merlin for what he did here, and he came at a time when a lot of players weren't interested. He helped build the club into the global superpower it is now, it's not a slight against him to acknowledge he's simply never been close to the level of the greatest player of all time.
