You couldn’t be more wrong. Your “analysis” is beyond lazy and it’s obviously clear that you don’t even watch players like Messi on a regular basis. A proper ‘clueless pissed up old bloke down the pub’ standard of post tbh.
Analysis? Can you go and read a dictionary before you chat with the adults please. It was an opinion of someone who has seen Messi play live several times and David Silva. You throwing out moronic posts like that without any substance behind them whatsoever clearly evidences you are intellectually incompetent have you ever been outside of Manchester pal?

The irony of complaining about teams getting pumped 10-0 (which has never happened in La Liga during the PL era) the morning after Southampton lose 9-0 for the second time in a year quite incredible.

9-0 has also not happened since the 50's in Spain.

The logic never holds up either. If it’s so easy to score so many goals in Spain then why does no one else do it apart from Messi and Ronaldo?

That's because you're a good, loyal Manchester City fan who's loved watching Silva for 10 years.

Messi on the decline got 31 goals and 27 assists last season playing mostly as an attacking midfielder, and if Silva had the ability to do half of that at his peak, he would have done. And before someone chimes in with Silva's game not being about goals and assists, Messi has everything else as well as the goals and assists.

We will always love Merlin for what he did here, and he came at a time when a lot of players weren't interested. He helped build the club into the global superpower it is now, it's not a slight against him to acknowledge he's simply never been close to the level of the greatest player of all time.
Genuine question mate, not disputing the above,or getting into a argument.
I want Messi here as much as anyone else does.
Question.......would you take Messi for 2 seasons now or a David Silva at his peak for another 5 year?
As much as I want Messi at City,I would personally go for Merlin.

I'd take another 5 years of Silva because he's my favourite City player ever.

Last summer Messi submitted a transfer request because of a disillusionment and dissatisfaction with his situation at Barcelona, a dissatisfaction which had been growing for some considerable time but which had reached breaking point as a result of their humiliation in the CL by Bayern. Messi felt that for years the club had not rebuilt as promised and that he was expected to carry the team and carry the can when he failed. Amidst all the frensy and rumour which followed his request I believe Messi's father said that his son was only interested in joining City. I also think I am right in saying that Messi never claimed that playing alongside Sergio was the main attraction at the Etihad. I believe that he wished to work with Pep again to enjoy a successful end to his career. He was not interested in a move to Paris.

It seems hard to believe much has changed since summer. The only development of significance is that Pep has extended his contract at City and it seems more than likely that this is connected to "the Messi affair", especially in the light of the club's assertions that the finance is in place! The leaking of Messi's contract hardly seems to have paved the way for a reconciliation between Barca and Messi and I must say that Koeman does not seem the inspirational figure to reconcile Messi to staying at the club.

None of us have a crystal ball and things can change but I think City have the best chance of signing Messi at the end of the season. I certainly hope it happens.
