I've seen lots of people not wanting him for various reasons, some saying it may be too late , he's no longer at his prime or that he may be detrimental to the club or too costly and cause friction re: wages.
I cannot recall a poster saying that he would not be the best player.
That goes without saying.
Himself and Ronaldo between them have been the outstanding players for what seems an eternity.
Maybe I am understanding posters wrong but they all acknowledge Messi's ability but are wondering what effect , if any, it has on our current team. At the moment, we are playing as well, if not better , without De Bruyne.
Messi may not improve us, even though he would be the outstanding talent.
Personally, I think he may come in the summer.
Pep has got the current team working so hard that he may not be interested any longer in Messi.
