Still think he will stay at Barca but would love to see him in city blue.

Barca are a shambles of a club letting his contract run so desperately low - the ONLY reason I can see for that is that they like the media atention and want to do some huge publicity stunt of resigning him or doing it on the deadling and I cant think of any other real advantages of that to the player or the club.

Part of me did think they were holding off till they got either a sponsorship deal over the line, or a loan or something.

Then they got the 500m new loan, and the imminent extension signing claims came (not that they ever stopped), I thought maybe that was it.

A lot can happen in a few more days. Of he plays against Bolivia on effectively his last day as a Barcelona player, it will feel very weird, and get interesting

Sky sports app had the headline Messi near to signing new contract and the proceeded to explain he was absolutely nowhere near resigning.
