A fair few posts suggested that they would not blame Messi if he did decide to leave

Precisely, many think that (me too) that if Messi decided to change teams could not be blamed. People would understand. It all depends on him and have a clear thing, if he decided to go, it would not be for money. In recent years Neymar has collected more money than Messi and has not complained. He wants a competitive team and it takes time that it is not. There would only be two teams he could go. Chelsea and City.
