Sorry for interrupting the thread but wondered if any of you blues could help me.

My Dad posts on here all the time. He's been a member for as long as I can remember.

He left the house on Wednesday and we haven't seen him since. He's packed the tent and raided the cupboards and fridge. There was a full packet of sliced corned beef that's gone, we think he also has the red sauce.

If anyone hears from him, could you tell him work have been on to the phone today if they don't hear from him today, he needn't go back next week.

Thanks.
You’ve got a lot of learning to do son. Where do I always go when a transfer is imminent?

Fetch me some supplies.

Aren’t we back in training on Monday so with the quarantine rules from Spain how can pep be in Barcelona this weekend?

No idea. But I’ve been told by someone who would know has no reason to lie and told me it’s a “fact” that Pep is in Barca. This person is also in Barca.

Peps daughter has been posting pictures of her in Barca so fully belive he's probably there

Isn't there a special rule for elite sporting people? Pep will be tested every single day on his return

Up until now, I have not see Bartomeu show any class, honor or respect in his actions - he has skirted the rule/letter of law repeatedly for his own gain. Has the feel of him feeling the need to go the nuclear route and now baiting Messi to get Figo'd by the media

Smart play by Messi to push for the peaceful route just as it was by Bartomeu to 'offer' his resignation for him to stay. I don't see Messi going public until a resolution is achieved which makes me wonder if another player will need to enter into it to tilt the balance. Not sure Pep wants to be seen as the one to take Messi from Barca publicly either, I wonder if a club legend will go public like Puyol, Xavi or Iniesta
Puyol already posted a message of support, didn't he? I don't think Xavi will say anything if he intends to be Barca's manager in the future

Yes. 100 million in wages over next season then 70 million euro loyalty Bonus when he walks away for free. Mad deal in the first place. Messi isn’t arsed about money at this point. He just wants out.

Messi does not need the club he pays for to pay him: he could still earn enough in one season turning out for "free" to retire on to a life of luxury.

II wonder how much he would have to pay to buy out his contract? Presumably it's no more than any transfer fee City would be prepared to pay if Messi can't legally enforce a free transfer. Therefore, does Bart have any hope of stopping Messi leaving for far less than the buyout fee?

You find it unusual? Messi is held in mythical reverence by cules. Club is bigger than anyone but the pillars of the modern club are built by Cruyff, Pep & Messi. Messi is a gift to all fans, it does not surprise me despite Barto et al's best efforts to undermine the player & his legacy

As other have alluded to politics at work here and most are finally recognizing how disastrous Bartomeu & Rosell have long been. A smear campaign is inevitable but Messi's camp look to be trying to not let Barto get the upper hand in terms of public perception

I expected it would be more of a split but it seems almost unanimous that Messi is in the right.

They would have to be beyond stupid to not sell him in this window. That is insane.
It would be beyond stupid to give in straight away too. Posturing.

As things stand, Barca's management have to choose between two bad positions:

1) Negotiate an amicable agreement maximising payments from City, or

2) Stand firm, alienate the player and lose him in a matter of months for nothing.

I can't see them maintaining their current stance. If they do, I am not bothered. We strengthen, get Koulbaly, and the world knows we get Messi in a few months time on a free transfer, and by then we'll all be in the ground to see it.

If the president is out next March, he probably doesn’t care as it’s not his ultimate problem.

They’ll probably look to balance the books before then by flogging their dead wood, of which there’s loads because the recruitment has been so poor.

I can see this guy digging his heels in because it’s almost the last straw he has to hang on to in order to save some shred of credibility for his tenure.

I hope Messi can find some way out because he’d be a game changer on and off the pitch.

This has been coming. I predicted it a month ago. Barcelona’s finances are so bad the board will be personally liable at the end of their reign if they don’t clean that shit up.
That’s the key. And the worry. The board need to claw back some dinero - by any means necessary. Still think it’ll get done, eventually.
